DENVER (KDVR) -- The Denver Nuggets made team history after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals and advancing to the NBA Finals. But during the playoff games, several local fans were unhappy with the announcers and the focus of the coverage of the games. "The Nuggets have had to climb out of this idea that they are a flyover city," Ryan Edwards, with KOA Radio, said. Edwards said he thinks the reason the Nuggets aren't getting the national respect is because they haven't been there (the NBA Finals) like other teams have.  Nuggets make Denver a hoops town with first trip to NBA Finals in 47 years “I like how this team fits in with the community and I think they will represent well in the Finals," Edwards said. Darrin Duber-Smith, a senior lecturer at Metropolitan State University of Denver said he thinks more people, not just locally but across the nation, will jump on the Nuggets bandwagon. “The Nuggets are gain...

HONOLULU (AP) — As Typhoon Mawar aimed its fury at Guam, residents facing terrifying winds and crashing waves from the strongest typhoon to hit the U.S. Pacific territory in decades had identical twin meteorologists to keep them informed — and to provide the outside world with a glimpse of the chaos unfolding on the remote island. The National Weather Service’s Guam office employs Landon Aydlett as its warning coordination meteorologist. His brother Brandon Aydlett is the science and operations officer. Together, the 41-year-olds tag-teamed Facebook Live broadcasts watched by thousands as Typhoon Mawar approached with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph (225 kph), wreaking havoc as residents lost power, internet and water service. Their colorful descriptions of the Category 4 storm painted a picture as they both took turns describing trees snapped like toothpicks, thrashing winds, nearly 2 feet (0.6 meters) of torrential rain and “whiteout conditions” outside the office wh...

Chow, the perceived front-runner according to several recent polls, continued to face attacks from other candidates during the debate, particularly Bradford and Saunders who said her plan would significantly increase taxes for Toronto property o...
